Luxemburg

Oct. 4, 1950 - Aug. 26, 2013

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 29th, 2013 at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Luxemburg for Beatrice "Bea" O. Schmidtbauer, 62, who passed away on Monday after a hard fought eight month battle with cancer. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday (TODAY) at Mary Hall in Luxemburg and one hour before services on Thursday. Christian Women will pray at 6:00 PM followed by parish prayers at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Mary Hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Bea was born on October 4, 1950 in St. Cloud to Andrew and Loretta (Kiffmeyer) Gohman. She graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral in 1969 and went on to receive her nursing degree. She married Mike Schmidtbauer on January 12, 1974 and they made their home in Luxemburg. Bea worked at Talahi Care Center as a nurse for 44 years and touched the lives of many including both residents and coworkers. She was past president and secretary of the St. Wendelin's Christian Women. Bea loved everything to do with gardening but especially harvesting and canning. Her greatest joy in life came from her family and particularly her grandchildren. She will be extremely missed by all.

Bea leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Mike; her three sons, Jason (Becky) of Golden Valley, John of Luxemburg, and Jeff (Stacy) of Royalton; 5 grandchildren, Corrin, Carter, Macayla, Sean, and Spencer; two brothers, Jim (Linda) Gohman and Ken (Kathy) Gohman; sister-in-law, Sharon Gohman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one step-brother, Donald Gohman.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Coborn's Cancer Center, especially Michelle and Ashley, and to St. Cloud Hospital Hospice, especially Dawn and Molly, for all the help and consoling they did for them. Also thank you to the staff at Talahi Care Center for all the moral support they gave to the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials sent to the Coborn's Cancer Center or St. Cloud Hospital Hospice.
