Michael Raymond died on Monday, December 2 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon after a brief illness. Born on June 24, 1951 in Alexandria, MN, Michael was the third oldest child of Sylvester and Bernadine Raymond of Sauk Rapids.
Michael lived in the Pacific Northwest for the past 15 years, moving to Eugene, OR in 2012. He loved nature and spent a good portion of his time camping and hiking. Michael was a self-taught musician and often played guitar for family, friends and in the communities where he lived. Michael had a deep love for his family. He maintained many long friendships from around the country, and these friendships were very dear to him. Michael lived life on his own terms and shared his caring sense of life with others. He was an avid reader and writer, spending many hours exploring ideas and philosophies. He had a gentle heart, and the cares of the world, especially environ- mental and poverty concerns, were important to him.
He is preceded in death by his mother Bernadine Raymond and brother-in-law Thomas Bukowski.
He is survived by his father, Sylvester of Sauk Rapids; sisters Beverly Billig (Ray) of Sartell, Mary Bukowski of Sauk Rapids, Kay Haakenson of Sartell, brother Patrick Raymond (Ann) of Port Ludlow, WA; 8 nieces & nephews; 8 great nieces & nephews.
